Two inch wood slats are by far the most widely used slat size in North America. They represent the most popular balance between price, stacking height, weight, durability and overall appearance.
The most widely used real wood in North America for blind slats is Basswood (Lime). Our African Featherwood (Abachi) is however much lighter weight than traditional Basswood, so it allows for wider one-piece blinds that are easier to lift and tilt while also being more dimensionally stable (less warping and twisting). It is the same wood that is used for limited edition guitars by Fender and Gibson.
